Why WSA Westminster United Travel?
WSA is one of the largest soccer organizations in Central Maryland and provides an affordable and player development-focused experience for players looking to grow within the beautiful game. Our licensed coaches provide year-round training through competitive league play, tournaments and off-season programs that help prepare players to reach their full potential on and off the field. This often results in players moving on to play for high school and college teams.
What does it cost to play?
Overall costs vary per team based on the number of activities they choose to participate in. Baseline costs run about $350, which includes Fall league play, one tournament, and uniform package. Many teams participate in indoor and Spring seasons, which would be additional costs. That said, most teams do fundraising throughout the year that allow them to offset some of those costs or provide fun, competitive opportunities for their players.
How are tryouts conducted?
WSA Westminster United team tryouts take place in April/May for the following season. Exact dates and locations are communicated via our website and social media channels.
How often do teams train?
During the Fall, most teams will train 2x/week from August-November. Additional training or team activities are driven by the individual teams and could include additional practice opportunities and off-season fitness programs.
How far are games?
League games are split 50/50 home and away. Home games are played in the Westminster area. Depending on your league opponents, away games can be 60-90 mins away against teams from Baltimore, Harford, Howard or Anne Arundel Counties.
